This was the very first project we did under the name “Realgrey Records”. Recorded mostly by Ron Flack in his living room studio, with bits and pieces recorded by Ryan Gerber and Benjamin Payne in their homes. Songs 2 and 7 recorded by Matt Kurtz in his bedroom. The Nashville Number System (NNS) is a shorthand method of writing music that has been widely used in Nashville since the 1960s. The system uses numbers to represent chords, making it easier for musicians to learn songs quickly and for producers to communicate musical ideas efficiently.
For musicians, keeping steady time is essential. It is the foundation of a great musical performance. However, keeping steady time is not always an easy task, and it requires practice and dedication. In this article, we will explore different methods that musicians can use to learn how to keep steady time.
Throughout her debut release, Time Goes On, recorded with the Blue Winter’s Aaron Troyer and a number of stellar musicians, there are confessions of pain, of doubt, of fear, but never without an unwavering hope that maybe, just maybe, reconciliation lies just ahead.
Realgrey is blessed to have a host of very talented interns this semester, two of which help me with an idea. Percussionist Adam McClousky and Composer Callum Amacher have worked together for quite some time so I felt like they’d be the perfect duo to test the studio kit in our newly revamped acoustic room (formally known as our control room).
